Film: That Awkward Moment (15)

A male version of Bridget Jones meets Sex in the City

That Awkward Moment (15)

Directed by Tom Gormican

3 Stars

This male version of Bridget Jones meets Sex in the City sees Miles Teller and Zac Efron play three best friends who vow to remain single in support of their best mate (Michael B Jordan) who's suffered a crushing break-up. But, unsurprisingly, it's a pledge they find impossible to keep.

Though it's refreshing to see a rom com which shows how the other half supposedly deal with relationships and rejection, crying into a pot of luxury ice cream as Jordan - Mister Dumped - does is going it a bit.

Thanks to the actors' great on-screen chemistry and comic prowess, That Awkward Moment is an enjoyable and fun ride.

Yet it lacks a much-needed risqué edge, despite the odd gross-out moment. But fans will get to see Efron butt naked so it's a win-win all round for them.
