Redundant Ucatt workers at Norking Aluminium in Doncaster call on investors to end administration threat

Aluminium and glass workers call for buyers to end employer's administration and save 50 jobs in South Yorkshire

Workers facing redundancy called on potential buyers to step forward yesterday after their employer Norking Aluminium went into administration.

The Doncaster-based aluminium and glass firm announced 50 redundancies last week.

The workers’ union Ucatt said it was putting measures in place to ensure that they received all the redundancy and compensation that they were entitled to.

Ucatt regional organiser John McIntyre said it was a bitter blow for a hard-working dedicated workforce.

He said: “Every effort should be made to find a buyer for the company to save as many jobs as possible.

“Ucatt will ensure that all our members receive the full compensation after they were told they were losing their jobs without notice or consultation.”
