Plebgate police officer found guilty of gross misconduct for porn messages; Uh-oh — Teletubbies to return

POLICE: An officer from Scotland Yard’s Diplomatic Protection Group has been sacked for sending “disgusting and offensive” porn to his colleagues from his mobile phone.

James Addison, who was also investigated in the wake of the Plebgate row, lost his job after being found guilty of gross misconduct by force bosses.

An internal panel found the constable’s conduct was discreditable when he sent the obscene pictures and videos, which featured bizarre sex acts and defecation.

SCOTLAND: Theatre actor and writer David MacLennan, who helped to establish the influential 7:84 and Wildcat theatre companies, has died aged 65.

MacLennan also helped to create the highly successful Play, a Pie and a Pint series at the Oran Mor venue in Glasgow’s west end.

Earlier this year Mr MacLennan revealed that he had been diagnosed with terminal motor neurone disease, which affects the nervous system.

Actor and left activist Tam Dean Burn wrote on Twitter: “Farewell David MacLennan a true gentleman, socialist and giant of the Scottish theatre scene. @PlayPiePint is extraordinary monument to him.”

TV: Parents braced themselves for earache yesterday after it was announced that the Teletubbies are to say “eh-oh” to a new generation of viewers with a comeback more than a decade after the series ended.

The pre-school show, featuring Tinky Winky, Dipsy, Laa Laa and Po, will return for a further 60 episodes on BBC digital channel CBeebies.

The new series will feature the same characters on replica sets, but programme-makers say it will be “visually enhanced, bringing a refreshed and contemporary look and feel,” and there will also be some CGI animation.

CRIME: A woman accused of murdering her parents, burying them in their garden and pretending they were alive for 15 years, told a jury yesterday of the moment she “lost it” and shot her mother.

Former librarian Susan Edwards, with her husband Christopher, is accused of murdering Patricia and William Wycherley in 1998.

She said she picked up the gun after her mother had put it on a bed and shot Mrs Wycherley who was provoking her with relentless taunts.
