Cameron's former aide in court on child porn charges

A FORMER adviser to David Cameron has appeared in court in connection with making and possessing indecent images of children.

Patrick Rock answered bail at Westminster Magistrates Court yesterday, speaking only to confirm his name and address.

Prosecutor Ruona Igvyovwe said Mr Rock, of Fulham in south-west London, had been charged with three counts of making indecent photographs of children and one count of possessing indecent images of children.

The charges relate to more than 60 images described as category C — the lowest on the scale, Ms Igvyovwe said.

She said the charges related to alleged offending in the United States, where Mr Rock had been living and working until recently.

Mr Rock, 63, who has no previous convictions, was granted conditional bail by District judge John Zani. He will appear at Southwark Crown Court on July 17.
