FATE frowned on Ukip yesterday after one of the party’s purple battle buses had its wing mirror accidentally knocked off by a lorry, grounding their campaign.
Ukip leader Paul Nuttall was forced to cancel a day of campaigning in Essex while the purple bus, which is emblazened with a huge image of the leader’s noggin, is repaired overnight.
Mr Nuttall was set to join Ukip activists for two campaign events in the county, where the party had its only MP elected in Clacton.
But karma decided to give the racist party a kick instead, with a lorry clipping the battle bus while it was in a coach park on Thursday night.
A party spokesman said: “A lorry drove a bit too close on its way out early this morning or late last night and just knocked the wing mirror off.
“It’s one of those rogue accidents you can’t do anything about.”
He stressed that there is no evidence to suggest the wing mirror was knocked off on purpose.
