THE National Education Union (NEU) conference kicks off today in Harrogate, with delegates from across the country coming together to discuss the challenges facing education in 2023.

The NEU is the largest teachers’ union in England, and in fact the whole of Europe, representing over half-a-million teachers and support staff.

The union has a long history of fighting for the rights of teachers and for the quality of education and is building a reputation as a fighting union at last.
