TRAIN drivers have voted overwhelmingly to retain their union’s political fund, the Aslef union revealed yesterday.
In a ballot which has to be held every 10 years, members of Aslef backed the fund by four to one.
General secretary Mick Whelan said: “I’m delighted that we have maintained our right to play the fullest part in our democratic society. Not to have had a political fund would have limited what we can do to defend our members’ interests.”
