Marcelo told to drop the acting by Woelfe boss

REAL MADRID’S Marcelo earned a heated dressing down from Wolfsburg’s manager after a Wednesday night performance perhaps better suited to page 11 of the people’s paper than its sports section.

There was little to annoy Dieter Hecking as his Die Woelfe posted a 2-0 first-leg win against a Real side expected to be flying high after their weekend win in El Clasico.

But Marcelo’s amateur dramatics — one display of which saw the apparently glass-jawed Brazilian writhe about on the floor after pushing his head into Maximilian Arnold, earning the Wolfsburg player a booking — got the Wolves’ boss’s goat.

The pair had a heated exchange in the tunnel after the game, and Hecking later revealed what he had said to the Brazilian.

“I told him to drop the acting,” Hecking told Sky television. “He couldn’t have complained if he’d been sent off for what he did.

“It annoyed me because it’s something he doesn’t need to do.”

The Germany international was more relaxed about it afterwards, joking: “We just spoke about our haircuts. I would love to have as much hair as Marcelo.”

Wolfsburg won the game thanks to Ricardo Rodriguez’s penalty and a goal from Arnold.
