Kurds rally for Kobane

Thousands of Kurds rallied outside Parliament on Saturday in solidarity with Kobane’s heroic resistance against Isis invaders.

Campaigners urged Turkey to open its borders to allow both volunteer Kurds in to defend the Syrian city and refugees to flee the inevitable massacre that Isis would unleash should it capture Kobane.

Policing turned heavy-handed when protesters blocked roads around Parliament, shouting: “We’re not going anywhere.”

The Met Police confirmed yesterday that it had arrested two people.
