MI5 spy used his status to terrorise his partner, court hears as government fails to keep story from the BBC

AN MI5 spy used his status to terrorise his partner and continued working abroad despite being under investigation, the BBC reported today.

Shocking video footage showed the man, who cannot be named despite the risk he poses, threatening to kill the woman before attacking her with a machete.

The government failed to stop the BBC publishing the story, which shows evidence that the spy was a far-right extremist with a history of violence.

His attacks and threats to kill were filmed on a mobile phone by his partner, who he met on a dating website.

She says her partner told her that he was a paid informant for the British intelligence services and had infiltrated extremist networks.

MI5 agents are authorised to commit crimes as part of their cover, but this doesn’t not extend to their private lives.

“It meant that I couldn't speak out about any of his behaviour towards me, any of the violence I went through, sexual or physical, because he had men in high places who always had his back, who would intervene and who would actively kill me if I spoke out,” his former partner said.

The BBC said that according to evidence they had seen, the MI5 agent’s far-right views were genuine.
