Apple workers in Glasgow make history after becoming first to secure union recognition

APPLE workers in Glasgow have made history by becoming the firm’s first British store to secure union recognition.

Their union, GMB, hailed the move as “another compelling new chapter in the trade union story.”

The workers at the mega-rich US-owned tech giant’s branch on Buchanan Street secured a “clear majority of two-thirds support” for recognition in a statutory ballot overseen by conciliation service Acas, according to the union.
