Welsh independence march to be led by a 10-metre dragon

CAMPAIGNERS have announced that their next march for Welsh independence will be led by a dragon on the streets of Bangor this Saturday.

The artist-led organisation Small World Theatre has crafted a roaring 10-metre-long Welsh dragon to lead the demonstrators through the north Wales town.

Independence speaker Sera Cracroft said: “The dragon symbolises our fiery spirit and unwavering commitment to an independent Wales.

“As we march through Bangor, we carry with us the hopes and dreams of a nation determined to forge its own path towards independence.”

Supporters will meet at Glanrafon Car Park from 11am and the march will start at 1pm.

The dragon will guide demonstrators through Bangor High Street, onto Glynne Road, down Deiniol Road before returning to Glanrafon Car Park where a rally will be held at 2pm.

Speakers will include Plaid Cymru leader Rhun ap Iorwerth.

Previous marches in Caernarfon, Merthyr Tydfil, Wrexham, Cardiff, and Swansea have attracted up to 10,000 participants.
