THE Morning Star NUJ chapel is appalled by the killing of fellow journalist and NUJ member Lyra McKee in Derry last night.

The Star chapel would like to send its condolences and solidarity to her family and colleagues.

Lyra McKee was a courageous investigative journalist and LGBT activist whose life has been tragically cut short by those who want to undermine the road to peace in Ireland.

We condemn Lyra McKee's killers and all those who attack journalists and journalism.
