Child killed in Turkish drone strike in northern Syria

A CHILD  was reported to have been killed in Turkish drone strikes in Syria’s northern Hasakah province on Wednesday after missiles targeted al-Bahira village.

Turkish occupying forces destroyed homes and a vehicle in the Amude countryside, killing an 11-year-old and injuring another civilian.

Power lines were damaged by the attack and electricity supply was cut off across 40 villages in the area close to the Turkish border.

The Sana news agency said that drones fired at a residential home and the vehicle which was travelling along the Amude-al-Dirbasyia road.

It struck a convoy sending reinforcements battling to defeat a recent attempt by Isis cells to free thousands of jihadists held in the Ghweran al-Sinaa prison in Hasakah province.

Critics accused Ankara of providing air cover to Isis and supporting the resurgence of the death cult.

Turkey has escalated its deadly drone war in northern Syria, acting with impunity as the international community remains silent.

In June 2020 Turkey was accused of war crimes after three women — Zehra Berkel, Hebun Mele Xelil and Amina Waysi — were killed in a targeted strike on a building in the Syrian city of Kobane.
