Government urged to use Brexit to cut beer duty

THE government is being urged to use Brexit to safeguard pubs after new research showed that 14 are closing every week.

Campaign for Real Ale (Camra) said the government will have the freedom to cut beer duty in pubs after Britain leaves the EU.

The move would level the playing field between the price of beer sold in supermarkets and that in pubs, said Camra.
