Men's Rugby League Great Britain amateur game called off due to concerns for player welfare

ORGANISERS have scrapped one game for the touring Great Britain amateur team in Fiji and put back the kick-off for the others over concern for player welfare.

After discussions with the Fiji National Rugby League, the Lions' scheduled game against the Fiji Bati Residents team at Lawaqa Park, Sigatoka, tomorrow has been cancelled because of the heat and humidity.

The British Amateur Rugby League Association's management committee also succeeded in pushing back the kick-off for their two remaining fixtures from 1.30pm to 5.30pm.

The tourists, who began their tour with a 22-20 win over West Fiji on Wednesday, play the Australian Combined Affiliated States on Tuesday and the Bati Residents next Friday.
