Guevara to address Dublin peace conference

DR ALEIDA GUEVARA is set to address a major peace conference in Dublin this weekend as international delegates gather with organisers warning the world is “on the brink of war.”

The Peace and Neutrality Alliance (Pana) will meet in the Irish capital amid warnings of the increased aggression of Nato forces across the globe and a threat to world peace.

Those gathering for the First International Conference Against US/Nato are launching a major campaign calling for millions of people to mobilise for peace.

“This madness must be stopped by popular opposition, but none of us can stop it alone,” organisers said.

In a statement Pana said there were many factors leading to the global crisis which has led to the world “teetering on the brink.”

These include “the increasingly aggressive actions of US/Nato forces; the raging wars in the Middle East, the ever-expanding arms race with its devastating consequences on national economies and social spending.

”Bellicose language is replacing diplomatic negotiations,” Pana warned.
