NFL: Former NFL running back Alex Collins has died at the age of 28 following a road traffic incident in Florida.

Collins was riding a motorcycle when he collided with an SUV in Lauderdale Lakes on Sunday evening and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a Broward County Sheriff’s Office report.

Collins played three seasons with the Seattle Seahawks and two with the Baltimore Ravens, scoring a total of 19 touchdowns.

Men’s football: Pep Guardiola has confirmed Kevin De Bruyne faces a “few months out” with a hamstring injury, with Manchester City now having to decide whether he will undergo surgery.

The 32-year-old midfielder was forced off in the first half of June’s Champions League final triumph against Inter Milan and did not play a single minute of pre-season.

Men’s rugby union: Owen Farrell will lead England into the World Cup after his red card against Wales was not upheld by a disciplinary panel, making him free to play with immediate effect.

Farrell was sent off at Twickenham on Saturday when his yellow card for a dangerous tackle on Taine Basham was upgraded to a red by the “Bunker” review system.

It was decided by an all-Australian panel that Farrell, who was expected to face a six-week suspension, should have been hit with a sin-binning only.

Men’s boxing: Promoter Frank Warren is confident the timing is right for Daniel Dubois to stun world heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk on August 26.

Dubois will fight for the WBA (super), IBF and WBO belts next weekend.

While Warren did attempt to bring the world title fight to London, it will take place in Wroclaw, Poland.
