THE Morning Star’s Shifting the Balance Between Capital and Labour conference in Scotland has been welcomed by Scottish Labour leader Richard Leonard.
Ahead of the conference, at which he will speak, Mr Leonard said: “Amid a crisis in Scottish industry and an increasing centralisation of political and economic power in the hands of the few, there’s never been a more important time to discuss shifting the balance of power.
“The troubles of the BiFab yards, the Caley railway works and the Michelin factory in Dundee all demonstrate that Scotland needs to ditch the SNP’s ‘case by case’ approach and develop a proper industrial strategy and an expansion of labour rights and employee powers in the workplace.
“Scottish Labour is the only party committed to delivering this, and I look forward to sharing our plans for economic transformation at Sunday’s conference.”
Shifting the Balance Between Capital and Labour will begin at the STUC building in Glasglow at 12pm.
