ENGLAND have included Kirstie Gordon in their squad of 13 for tomorrow’s Women’s Ashes Test against Australia at Taunton.
Nottinghamshire’s Gordon has been rewarded after taking eight wickets in the warm-up fixture between Australia and England’s Academy.
Danni Wyatt and Jenny Gunn, who were part of the one-day squad, will remain with England’s Academy to take part in T20s against Australia A and Ireland.
England captain Heather Knight said: “It’s obviously a very important match for us, and we need to win it to stay in the series.
“The beauty of the multi-format points series means we’re still very much in the battle.
“A normal bilateral series that ended like the ODIs would have been finished, but we can get back to 6-4 with a win in the Test match and that’s exciting.”
Australia completed a clean sweep of one-day international wins last week with a comprehensive 194-run victory in Canterbury.
England must now win the Test as a draw would mean that should they prevail in all three of the following Twenty20s, the series would end in a stalemate and Australia, as holders, would retain the urn.
Fran Wilson, who played in Canterbury, and Alex Hartley will stay with the Test group in Taunton as cover.
