MIAMI DOLPHINS wide receiver Kenny Stills called out team owner Stephen Ross yesterday after it emerged he will host a fundraiser for United States President Donald Trump.
Stills has been one of the most outspoken players in the NFL, kneeling during the US national anthem as a protest against police brutality and racial discrimination.
Ross has supported the 27-year-old’s actions but that could all change with Stills’s social media post.
Upon hearing about the fundraiser, which for $250,000 will allow guests to get lunch, a photo and private roundtable with the US president, Stills tweeted: “You can’t have a non profit with this mission statement then open your doors to Trump.”
For reference, Ross’s mission statement reads: “We are a national nonprofit that educates and empowers the sports community to eliminate racial discrimination, champion social justice and improve race relations.
“Through partnerships and programs, we inspire leaders in sports to create positive change on matters of race and equality.”
Stills has prominently been a vocal and visual supporter of blacklisted quarterback Colin Kaepernick’s protest.
