MEN’S FOOTBALL: Brandon Goodship scored twice as Weymouth made it into the FA Trophy fourth round after a 2-1 win at Yeovil in front of a bumper 3,168 crowd at Tuesday night’s replay.
Weymouth, who currently sit bottom of National League South, 37 places below Yeovil, will host Boreham Wood in the next round.
Farsley Celtic’s replay at Gateshead was abandoned after 27th minutes due to a serious injury to Celtic’s defender Lewis Turner.
WHEELCHAIR RUGBY LEAGUE: Halifax Panthers wing Rob Hawkins has been named as the International Wheelchair Rugby League player of the year.
The 22-year-old finished ahead of France’s Nicolas Clausells and England team-mates Josh Butler and Nathan Collins to become the youngest ever winner of the Golden Boot.
Hawkins, who was part of England’s 2022 World Cup winning team, had also picked up the Super League’s player of the year award.
