Surrey bin workers announce strike and warn councils of the ‘hottest and smelliest’ summer in years
[GMB Union]

REFUSE workers are to go on strike next month in a fresh dispute in the industry over pay, their union announced today.

The GMB said its members employed by Amey in Elmbridge and Surrey Heath, south-west London, will strike from August 1 to 19.

The area, which includes Camberley, Cobham, Esher, Frimley, Walton-on-Thames and Weybridge, will see no kerbside rubbish collection for the period, and further walkouts are planned, the union said.
