Burger King, Pizza Hut and KFC could face food shortages as suppliers begin voting on strike
HUNDREDS of workers who supply some of Britain’s top fast-food chains began voting yesterday on a call for strike action over pay.
The staff, represented by the GMB union, are employed by Bestfood Logistics to deliver fresh food to Pizza Express, KFC, Zizzi, Burger King, Wagamama and Pizza Hut.
The industrial action ballot, set to run until November 18, follows the workers’ rejection of a wage offer of just 6 per cent, less than half September’s retail price index inflation rate of 12.6 per cent.
