Poetry: Suffrage

Suffrage

The lilac crocus
Against the green
Stirs spring to life

Lilac and green
Reflecting a theme
Of hope and strength

Still to come
For those still born
In barren climes

Or sisters shot
Or buried to face
Not warming sun

But stone so sharp
It kills the life
Before it has formed?

But seed so strong
It springs to life
Not purple and green

But slashed with warmth
A summer fruit
Malala scented
