Huddersfield forward Ryan Hinchcliffe will retire from rugby league at the end of the Super League season.
The Australian joined the Giants from Melbourne in 2016 and has gone on to score 12 tries in 86 appearances for the club.
Hinchcliffe, who twice won the NRL Grand Final and played in two World Club Challenges, will return to Australia following Huddersfield’s final Super 8s fixture at Catalans Dragons on September 29.
“I’ve really enjoyed my time here at the Giants, but I just feel that it’s the right time for me to call it a day and head back home,” said the 33-year-old, who began his career with Canberra.”
Huddersfield head coach Simon Woolford has called on his team to send Hinchcliffe out on a high.
“He’s one of those guys that lead by example on and off the field and he’s certainly going to be a loss for us next year,” said Woolford.
