Labour: Voters won't forget Lib Dem betrayal

LABOUR warned Nick Clegg yesterday that voters won’t forget what his party has done in government, on the eve of his speech kicking off the Liberal Democrats’ general election campaign.

Mr Clegg is reportedly set to try to restore confidence in the Lib Dems following their destruction in the local and European elections last month.

But Labour’s deputy leader Harriet Harman said: “People will not forget what the Lib Dems have done in government — his party has been an accomplice in rather than a brake on this Tory-led government.

“The Lib Dems have voted to cut tax for millionaires, support the bedroom tax and NHS reorganisation. In government they have broken their promises — increasing VAT and trebling tuition fees.”
