WOMEN’S CRICKET: Scotland face Sri Lanka in Tuesday’s final of the Twenty20 World Cup qualifying tournament in Abu Dhabi with both teams already guaranteed places at this year’s World Cup in Bangladesh.

The Scots, who have never qualified before, beat Ireland by eight wickets in their semi-final after Kathryn Bryce’s stunning 4-8 had restricted the Irish to 110-9. Sri Lanka squeezed past the UAE by 15 runs in their semi-final. 

MEN’S FOOTBALL: Bromley from the south-eastern outskirts of London will make their debut in the Football League next season after they beat Solihull Moors on penalties, following a 2-2 draw, in Sunday’s National League play-off final at Wembley.

Bromley, who finished the regular season third, five points behind runners-up Barnet, will join champions Chesterfield in League Two replacing Forest Green and Sutton United.

MEN’S BASKETBALL: Reigning NBA champions Denver Nuggets face the Minnesota Timberwolves on their home court tomorrow morning, looking to hit back from an opening 106-99 defeat in their seven-match western conference play-off semi-final.

Elsewhere, on Tuesday, Indiana begin their eastern conference play-offs with a trip to the New York Knicks before Cleveland Cavaliers are at Boston and Oklahoma host Dallas in Wednesday’s matches.

MEN’S RUGBY LEAGUE: Siddal top the National Conference after they beat off York Acorn 30-0 and previous league leaders Hunslet slumped to their first defeat of the season, 22-0 at Egremont.

West Hull moved second thanks to a comfortable 36-6 defeat of bottom club Lock Lane, Rochdale Mayfield claimed a narrow 28-22 success at Thatto Heath, West Bowling saw off Kells 26-14 and Wath Brow edged to an 18-16 win at Heworth.
