Tesco docked wages from 140,000 staff
TESCO could have to cough up £5.6 million in back pay for up to 140,000 workers after shopworkers’ union Usdaw discovered a discrepancy in the supermarket chain’s payroll.
The union said some Tesco workers have had sums docked from their wages in return for voluntary benefits such as childcare vouchers.
But the deductions left the workers on less than the legal minimum wage.
