LABOUR MP Ian Lavery announced yesterday that he will vote and campaign for Britain to remain in the European Union, but insisted it would not be a “full endorsement of the European project.”
The shadow minister for trade unions said the EU requires “genuine reform in the interests of the many” and said he had “utmost respect” for those on the left voting Leave.
But he warned a break with Brussels could put workplace rights at risk and cut investment to communities devastated by Thatcher, such as north-east England.
