Horns at vortex of great jazz storm

Annie Whitehead’s
World Music Workshop
Vortex, London N16
4/5

STANDING in front of the 15 horns of her 18-piece World Music Workshop orchestra, trombonist Annie Whitehead’s shining slides thrust straight towards the centre of the Vortex.

The combined surge of these musicians, largely amateurs who make music together every Monday night in London’s King’s Cross, is a sound of love and dedication to the musicians of the world whose music they play.
