SOUTHERN Rail faces another strike by its mistreated workforce in a long-running dispute over staff cuts and safety after talks collapsed on Tuesday.
Members of rail union RMT will walk out for 24 hours next Wednesday, February 22, as the row over cutting conductors from trains remained deadlocked following negotiations at conciliation service Acas.
“The abject failure by Southern Rail … to take the safety issues seriously has left us with no option but to confirm further action,” RMT general secretary Mick Cash said.
