SHOPWORKERS’ union Usdaw called for talks with Marks and Spencer yesterday after the retail giant announced plans to shut 60 stores across the country.
The closures will take place over the next five years, affecting hundreds of jobs, as the firm plans to concentrate more on food than clothing.
Usdaw said staff were “desperately worried” about the future of their jobs.
