AS THE trio of Wiltshire-born saxophonist Andy Sheppard, Bermondsey drummer Eddie Prevost and South London bassist John Edwards begin, Edwards pounds his strings with his bow, accompanied by Prevost’s shimmering cymbals.
Sheppard’s soprano horn, soft and mellow at the outset, is a series of ruminations alongside Edwards’s menacing, vibrating bow.
