Israel: Kerry cosies up to Netanyahu during visit to Jerusalem
Secretary of state attacks ‘senseless violence’
US Secretary of State John Kerry sought to appease hardline Israeli leaders yesterday during a visit to the contested city of Jerusalem.
Speaking alongside Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Mr Kerry said Washington supported Israel’s “right to defend itself” from children armed with scissors.
“No people anywhere should live with daily violence, with attacks in the streets with knives, with scissors, with cars,” he said.
