IFJ decries risks to Middle East journalists

THE International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) condemned yesterday the killing of two Iraqi journalists and demanded an end to Israel’s imprisonment of a Palestinian reporter.

The group and its national affiliates said the cases highlighted the grave threats to Middle Eastern media workers from violence and state repression.

Palestinian Mohammad al-Qiq has been on hunger strike for 50 days against his detention without trial in Israel.
