AT LEAST a dozen formerly Co-op-owned stores are to be closed after the company which bought them became insolvent, it was revealed yesterday.
The Co-op sold a subsidiary group of 36 stores to the Food Retailer Group last year.
The group has become insolvent and entered into a company voluntary arrangement, a mechanism through which an insolvent business can continue trading and pay its creditors over a period of time.
