Activists brave the snow to save our NHS

CAMPAIGNERS braved the snow on Thursday night to hold an emergency demonstration to save the NHS outside the Department of Health in London.

Retired paediatrician Dr Tony O’Sullivan of Health Campaigns Together said: “The government has deliberately ignored warnings from all quarters including the Kings Fund, the Nuffield Trust and even NHS England itself, that cuts to social care budgets are at dangerous levels seriously compromising the NHS.”

Keep Our NHS Public’s Alan Taman said Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt was “retreating into spin and dishonest arguments.”

Hands Off our NHS have organised a “howl of protest” which will take place on Saturday January 28 at Old Palace Yard, Westminster, at 12 noon.

A national NHS demonstration will also take place in London on March 4.
