Aslef: Generous whip-round boosts Star

ASLEF delegates chipped in £589.22 yesterday for “beacon of the left” the Morning Star.

The collection added to the generous donation of £1,000 approved by the train drivers at their conference on Monday.

As the bucket went round among the 80 delegates, Rugby’s Tony Venson said he wanted “to hear it rustle, not clink.”
