JEREMY CORBYN criticised Tory attempts to scare voters into staying in the EU yesterday after George Osborne warned that Britain would be plunged into a recession by a Leave vote.
The Tory Chancellor rammed home the warning as he joined forces with his Labour predecessor Alistair Darling at a Remain campaign event yesterday. But the Labour leader broke rank to blast Mr Osborne’s “prophecies of doom.”
Mr Corbyn said: “This is the same George Osborne who predicted his austerity policies would close the deficit by 2015. That’s now scheduled for 2021.
