A “DEMOGRAPHIC divide” could see the rich deciding the EU referendum on behalf of the poor, election experts feared yesterday after pollsters issued warnings of a low turnout.
Research commissioned by the Electoral Reform Society (ERS) found that two-thirds of high-earners said they would definitely vote, while just over 50 per cent of lower earners felt the same.
It also revealed that less than half of younger people were planning to vote, compared to close to 80 per cent of over-65s.
