‘Act now in Brussels and London to save our steel industry’
Steelworkers lobby Parliament to end unfair world competition
STEELWORKERS descended on Parliament yesterday to demand government intervention to halt the decline of their ailing industry.
Reps from steelworkers’ unions Community, GMB and Unite lobbied their MPs on behalf of workers at the Port Talbot, Llanwern, Teesside, Scunthorpe and Corby sites.
They then attended a Labour-called Commons debate at which opposition frontbenchers demanded tougher regulations from Westminster and the EU.
