Thames Water faced health and safety charges yesterday after a worker was killed by a reversing vehicle.
Raymond Holmes, 60, a GMB member from Rayleigh in Essex, died following the incident at the utility company’s Walthamstow site over four years ago.
The Crown Prosecution Service decided against filing workplace manslaughter charges earlier this year but passed the case to the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), which has laid charges under the Health and Safety at Work Act and representatives of Thames Water are due to appear before Southwark Crown Court on September 26.
