Tory starter homes too pricey for 2/3 people
TWO-THIRDS of people will not be able to afford the Tories’ 200,000 “starter homes,” local government chiefs have warned.
Properties sold at a 20 per cent discount would be too expensive for the majority of first-time buyers under 40, Local Government Association (LGA) analysis shows.
Labour shadow housing minister John Healey said the Tory handout to developers was set to be a “big let-down.”
