Palestine: Israel swipes 370 acres for new illegal settlement

ISRAEL announced yesterday it was grabbing 370 acres of Palestinian land in the occupied West Bank for an illegal settlement.

The Co-ordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT), a branch of the Defence Ministry, announced that the area near Jericho would be declared “state land.”

Israeli Army Radio had already revealed the plan on Tuesday, saying the land was north of the illegal Israeli settlement of Almog and had been used by settlers for 20 years.
