Greece: Ex-ministers protest at deal with Turkey
Accord ‘will weaken protection of refugees’

TWO former Greek ministers and a leading German MEP took a stand against the European Union’s refugee deal with Turkey yesterday.

Former energy minister Panagiotis Lafazanis, who leads the Popular Unity party, and former social security minister Dimitris Stratoulis led a protest by about 50 people which included a brief occupation of the EU Commission office in Athens.
