GLOSSOP Labour Club has been presenting The Defiance Sessions for over a year now and this night of politically charged entertainment is hosted by Matt Hill — aka Quiet Loner — in honour of musician Chris Evans, who sadly died last year.
Hill, songwriter in residence at Manchester’s People’s History Museum, is obviously finding inspiration from the many stories on offer there and new song 1928 is a brilliant tale about the anniversary of universal suffrage and the importance of voting.
