South Korea - Trial: Park denies corruption charges

IMPEACHED president Park Geun Hye denied corruption charges yesterday at the start of her trial.

Police escorted a handcuffed Ms Park into court for her first public appearance since she was jailed on March 31 for allegations of massive corruption that led to her overthrow.

Her childhood friend and claimed co-conspirator Choi Soon Sil sat near Ms Park but the two did not acknowledge each other.
