This latest show from Tea and Tenacity contemplates politics, picket lines and principles. Tinned Goods, performed by an all-female cast, is set during the miners’ strike 30 years ago and focuses on Sue and Rachel, two women whose friendship has been profoundly compromised by the dispute. As the pressure mounts, the women find themselves engaged in a desperate battle to save not only their relationships but also their very way of life. Should be well worth a look.

March 27
Gwyneth Herbert, greatly admired by music critics in this paper, finishes off her short national tour at one of her favourite stamping grounds. It’s a multi-instrumental show in which Herbert, accompanied by Ned Cartwright, draws on all parts of her wide and varied musical repertoire to tell tales of wild sea-drenched sirens, East End vagrants, jaded seaside hotels, loves and losses, drinks and the occasional Swahili singalong. Should be a special night.
