Weetabix strike put on hold

A STRIKE at cereal makers Weetabix has been put on hold at two sites in Northamptonshire after workers received an offer aimed at resolving a row over shifts, shop workers union Usdaw revealed yesterday.

Members of Usdaw, who backed industrial action by nine to one last year, will be balloted in the next few weeks on the new offer given to employees who haven been moved to the 24/7 shift pattern.

Ed Leach of Usdaw welcomed Weetabix’s engagement with the union to seek a fair solution.
